RESIDENTIAL KITCHEN CONSULTING
BASICS
A kitchen should be tailored to the cook(s) that uses it daily. While architects and interior designers can design beautiful spaces, the functionality can sometimes be an after thought. Rarely are the basic questions asked like: How do you use your kitchen? Do you bake, can/preserve, or love to cook breakfasts? Do you like to grill? Are you an avid pizzaiolo? Do you typically host big holiday meals or entertain large groups of people? We will assess what you currently have and like to determine the best course of action for the design of your space. The following are steps to determine your needs:
OUTFITTING
We will thoroughly assess your kitchen, small wares (tools & knives), cookware, and small electronics and ask important questions such as: How old are they? Are they stored correctly? Are they made from safe materials? How are they maintained? What additions/replacements are needed?
APPLIANCES
Appliance shopping can be overwhelming. You have needs, the salesperson has quotas, and appliance makers have perfected the art of upselling confused buyers. Having a professional that spent years working for a high-end appliance manufacturer in your corner will be a tremendous advantage. The goal is to outfit your kitchen with the appliances that best fit your needs and will stand the test of time. We will shop with the mindset of quality over trends to give you the long term enjoyment of the space.
THE WHOLE PICTURE
Once the previous topics have been addressed, the whole picture can be assessed. Knowing that the aesthetic of a space is as important as the functionality, we can suggest smart hard surface options that work best for you. Workflow and use of space will drive the design of the kitchen itself, as well as storage and bar areas. The design will be refined with your architect or designer to achieve a tailored space built just for you.
Any or all of these services are available individually or as a package.
